RoseMarie Fortier

On Thursday, March 6, 2008 RoseMarie Fortier, nee Bourque passed away at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. at the age of 81 years.

RoseMarie was born on January 10, 1927, daughter of Henri and Rose Alma Bourque of Baytree, Alberta, where she was raised and educated.

RoseMarie will be sadly missed and remembered by her loving husband Armand Fortier, her 11 surviving children, Pauline (Larry) Fortier, Celine Fortier, Paul (Linda) Fortier, Pierre (Pierrette) Fortier, Louise (Richard) Marshall, Robert (Michelle) Fortier, Yvonne (Darren) Johnston, Dianne (Robert) Grimes, Vivianne Fortier, Bernard (Amaranta) Fortier and Francoise Fortier, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Elise Dechief, numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

RoseMarie was predeceased by her parents, one sister Henriette, her two brothers Emile and Arthur Bourque, her son Maurice Fortier, and two grandchildren Tammy Richardson and Jennifer Fortier.

RoseMarie cherished and lived for the times when she was surrounded by family and friends. She was involved with the Roman Catholic Church, teaching catechism, and a participant with the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and the RCIA for many years in different communities where she lived.

RoseMarie liked to volunteer her time at the “Bits & Pieces,” and also worked with Homecare to help the elderly folks in Chase.

A prayer service and public visitation for RoseMarie Fortier was held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrement Roman Catholic Church in Chase, B.C.

Funeral services for RoseMarie Fortier were on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrement Roman Catholic Church in Chase, B.C. Burial was in the Chase cemetery following the services.

The family invited everyone to join with them in a time of fellowship and refreshments provided by the Knights of Columbus in the church basement after the services.

The family would like to suggest in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations in loving memory of RoseMarie be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #201 - 635 Victoria St., Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2B3.
