Suzanne Margaret North
September 16, 1934 - October 2, 2017
Suzanne passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017 surrounded by her family, her friends, and her cat.
Suzanne is lovingly missed by her husband Ted North, her children - Jane Smith ( Steivan, Emily, Alex, Lyle and family), Jill Jameson (Willy, Faith, Jessie and Gracey), Jennifer North, Ken North (Katelyn, Heidi, Ava and Austin), her brother Gregg Thomson (Kristina, Devon, Dayton and Zoe), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a very important circle of friends, old and new, who loved her.
Suzanne is predeceased by her parents Sadie and James Thomson, Sister Shirley, and Brother Jerry.
Mom was born in Trail BC. She graduated from J. Lloyd Crowe high school and then went on to attend Provincial Normal School where she trained to become a teacher.
Suzanne and Ted were married in 1955, and her real teaching career began with the raising of her children.
Mom made sure we were all prepared for the world (including Dad) and she did everything in her power to educate us for what was to come. Mom never lost sight of the world around her and had many interests. Everything she did, she did well. The beautifully tailored clothing, the incredible gardens and the exquisitely decorated homes are just a few of her accomplishments.
A service to celebrate Suzanne will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Salmon Arm at the First United Church, 450 Okanagan Avenue East.
