Tayna “Tina” Antal peacefully passed away at Hillside Village on Friday, July 3, 2009 with her daughter by her side.
Tina was born in a small village near Minsk, Poland on November 4, 1919. She emigrated to Canada with her mother and two brothers in June 1939 just before the outbreak of WW II to join her father, Roman, who was living in Parsons, BC. She married George Antal in 1940 and they moved to Canoe in 1946.
Tina was predeceased by her husband, George; parents, Roman and Katherine Kaloff and one brother, Roy. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen Froment; brother and sister-in-law, Alexander and Vera Kaloff of Maple Ridge, BC; five nieces and nephews and their children.
Many thanks to Tessa Kristensen, staff at Hillside Village and Dr. Malinowski for their dedication and kind and compassionate care to mom in her last years.
A family service will be held at a later date.
Mom was an avid gardener and, if there are gardens in the great beyond, I know she is busy planting her gladiola bulbs.
