Trevis Frank August (Sonny) Sjodin died tragically at Squilax, BC in the early hours of Friday, December 5, 2008 at the age of 36 years.
The funeral service was held from the Little Shuswap Community Band Hall on Thursday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Jack Bowers officiating. Tributes were shared by family and friends, including Ernie Philips, Angelina Wells and Chief Felix and Joan Arnouse.
Pallbearers were James Thomas, Aaron Arnouse, Derek Watson, Victor Bell, Ken Thomas Jr. and Les Anthony. Honorary bearers were Robert, James and Vern August, John Sjodin, Gerry Thomas and Ted Baynes. Crossbearer was Jules Arnouse. Interment followed on Squilax First Nations Cemetery.
Born in Vernon, BC on April 19, 1972, Sonny had resided most of his life in the Squilax area. He is well remembered for his love of kids, pets, walking and the fellowship he enjoyed with his family.
He was predeceased by his sister, Tracy, daughter, Tai August Sjodin and common-law-wife, Gerri Thomas. Sonny leaves his loving family; common-law-wife, Tracy Davis; son, Tristen August Sjodin; daughter, Tora Thomas; parents, Margaret and John Sjodin; sister, Janet (Scott) Lewis; brothers, Peter (Angelika) Sjodin, David (Michelle) Sjodin and Ronald Joseph Drummond; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
