Ty was born in Vancouver, BC. and adopted into the Goerzen home at 2 years of age. Instantly changing the quiet home!

As a young child, Ty was full of life, lots of mischief, never ending giggling, smiles and energy! He was quite the challenge to raise, as he had little fear of anything adventurous. His little hands were always busy!

He attended school at Ranchero Elementary, Kings Christian School, and for the last 5 years, homeschooled through Anchor Academy, graduating in June 2009.

Ty participated in Shuswap Youth Soccer, AWANA club, and several church youth groups. In 2008 he was able to take part in a missions trip to Mexico with a bus load of youth from the Baptist Church. Ty also squeezed in a winter road trip with his closest friend and brother, Levi. Ty loved anything on wheels! BMXing, skate boarding, dirt biking, cruising in his old jeep, and teaching others how to ride unicycle. Swimming, snowboarding, sledding on his skidoo also filled his days.

He also enjoyed quietly playing his guitars, and building cool little gadgets with small motors. He took great pride in making the best grilled cheese sandwiches!

Ty did work experience at Rainbow Glass and thoroughly enjoyed the restoration work on an old 1957 Chevy. He worked closely with Levi and Dave (dad) roofing (Lobo Steel Cladding) for the past 6 years. Ty was a very hard worker. He had also spent time working for a chicken farm, and most recently for Home Hardware.

Three weeks before Ty was taken from us, he had assured his mom that he had talked things over with God, and made things right. He had decided to make some positive changes in his life.

Ty is survived by his parents, Dave and Joy, sister Chelsea (Mitch) from Australia, brother Levi, and sister Cheyanne , Salmon Arm. Ty will be greatly missed by his Grandma, Herta Goerzen (Mission, BC) and his Grandpa, Howard Hunt (Paulette) of Salmon Arm, Uncles and Aunties; Paul and Casey, Peter and Marilyn, Reuben and Val, Matt and D’Atra, Wes, Marvel and Martin, Cathy, Peggy, Grace, Gordon and Susan, Jack and Betty, Cousins; Rachel, Davida (Karl), Nathania (Ryan), Jennifer, Daniel (Melissa), Nathan, Julie, Brad, Jill, Tim, Gen (Brad), Breanna, Jared, Travis, Jurnee, Dyson, Baylee, Justin, Asland, Malia, and Olivia.

The family would like to extend our deep appreciation to all those that came to Ty’s assistance and did their best to save his life. Cyndi Wolff, the CPR crew, ambulance crew, police, the kind Doctor on call that night, nurses and support staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Youth pastor, Les Harder, lead in the amazing memorial service for Ty held on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the First Baptist Church.

Thank you to the ladies of Living Waters and Baptist churches for the awesome luncheon. To all Ty’s friends, we love you! We are praying for you! Thank you to all who have given their overwhelming support!

Ty is now safe in the arms of Jesus, or as one of his friends put it, “just chillin” with Jesus”

We miss you Ty!
