Methane gas emissions based on recent studies are 2.5 times higher than what the government is telling us.

New research demonstrates that fracking for LNG is the largest source of climate pollution in B.C. The LNG industry is releasing methane into the atmosphere and most of these emissions are not being measured or reported.

The federal government is delaying for three years any action on reducing methane pollution.

That’s not good enough. We need to take action now.

Methane is 84 times more potent a climate pollutant than carbon dioxide. Limiting methane release into our atmosphere now and investing in cleaner sources of energy is a path for a brighter future in B.C.

It’s time to look at the full environmental costs of fracking, not just the short-term financial benefits.
