Don’t let April showers get you down, spring is in full bloom with a crafty tradition in Vernon this weekend.

The 14th annual Shoparama Spring Market gets underway Saturday (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday, (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), filling two rooms at the Vernon Recreation Complex.

“Come on down and support a budding bunch of entrepreneurs, crafters and home-based business. Baking too,” said Ingrid Baron, organizer.

Featuring 95 unique vendors, the weekend-long craft fair offers a fun shopping experience.

“There will be entertainment, goodies for the kids, door prizes and a yummy concession,” said Baron.

And it’s all in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and Salvation Army food bank.

Instead of charging admission, organizers ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank or purchase a daffodil pin from the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Help us make this a special food bank fundraiser,” said Baron.

It’s also a good weekend to escape the elements, as Environment Canada has forecast a 60 per cent chance of rain Wednesday to Saturday.
