Downtown Salmon Arm directors discussed the recycling of cardboard at their Feb. 8 meeting.
Discussions centred around the need of many downtown businesses to dispose of cardboard and how having the ability to compact the material could be a useful service. It was also suggested that it would be helpful if a dumpster in the inner core be replaced for the purpose.
A recycling pilot program for downtown streets is being considered, with special receptacles to separate recyclables from garbage.
