One new face will be joining the board of directors of Downtown Salmon Arm this year.

One new face will be joining the board of directors of Downtown Salmon Arm this year.
Newly appointed is David Barritt of Salmon Arm Florist on Alexander Street.
He joins returning directors Michael Wagner, Bill Laird, Tim Giandomenico, Jeff Johnson and Cookie Langenfeld, as well as a number of directors in the second year of their two-year terms. They are Ron Langridge, George Green, Rob Marshall, Rob Sengotta, Gale Paule Davison, Dorothy Argent and Bryan Kassa.
Community representatives appointed to the board were Debbie Cannon with the City of Salmon Arm and Carol McCreight with the Salmon Arm Chamber of Commerce.
Outgoing representatives who were thanked for their contributions were community rep Patty Munro and seniors’ rep Katannya Woodruff.
The contributions of outgoing director Maggy Davidson were also recognized.
President Cookie Langenfeld listed plans for this year, one which garnered a round of applause – the launch of a street-level recycling pilot project.
Other plans include a designated YouTube channel for Downtown Salmon Arm,  a ‘Taste of Downtown Restaurant Guide’ and a ‘Downtown Salmon Arm Travel Guide.’
Langenfeld noted that with new commercial developments arriving in the coming year, “how we respond is up to us individually and collectively.”
She emphasized that there will be significant opportunity to advance the community with the development of  the Downtown Community Campus initiative.
