At Downtown Salmon Arm’s Feb. 8 meeting, directors heard that safety concerns have arisen regarding the banner poles.

Director Bill Laird reported that the city has approved $7,000 towards the new sign. There will be free public announcements, he said, as well as a little cash flow from advertising.

The location has not yet been decided, something which is expected to occur once the city’s new director of engineering and public works has been named.
