Alzeimer’s walk requests help

Residents in Salmon Arm joined together on the last Sunday in January to raise money and awareness for families impacted by dementia.

For four years, residents in Salmon Arm have joined together on the last Sunday in January to raise money and awareness for families impacted by dementia at the Investors Group Walk for Memories.

Now, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is calling for volunteer leaders to help plan and co-ordinate this community event in 2013.

Participants join the walk to celebrate the life of someone who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, and to raise money for Alzheimer Society of B.C. programs and services in their community that can help. Money raised is also invested in research for a cure. In 2012, the Salmon Arm Walk raised an impressive $10,000 for the cause.
