Shuswap Seed Swap and Sale and Natural Living Fair takes place Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at AL Fortune school, 500 Bass Ave., Enderby.
More than 40 vendors will be selling seeds, vegetables, baking, crafts and more. A silent auction will also be held, with bids closing promptly at 2 p.m.
In the theatre, there will be lectures: • 10:30 to 11: Discovering neglected berries and nuts by Kathryn Hettler; • 11:15 to 11:45: From the ground up – growing and saving carrot seeds by Sue Moore; • 12 to 1:15: David versus Monsanto DVD featuring Percy Schmeiser; • 1:15 to 2: PowerPoint presentation on genetically engineered food by David Doncaster; • 2 to 2:30: Information on a bee S.A.F.E. movement by Huguette Allen; • 2:30: Update on Canada’s status on GMOs by Heidi Osterman.
