On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the doors to the Copper Island Seniors Resource Centre located at 2405B Centennial Drive opened its doors to the public for the first time.
Approximately 50 people attended the four-hour open house.
The centre, whose mission statement reads: “To provide information and coordinate services for seniors in the South Shuswap communities,” is sponsoring a number of support services for seniors.
Copper Island Seniors Centre operates Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 250-515-6047.
As well, Better at Home co-ordinator Wysteria Scholtz has arranged bi-weekly drop-in dates.
Scholtz is scheduled to be at the Copper Island centre between 1 and 4 p.m. every second Tuesday.
