Cooking breakfast for 600 over two days kids might sound pretty ambitious for 7 a.m., but Enderby city councillor, Tundra Baird says she and her council colleagues feel it’s always worth their time and effort. Council members, joined Mayor Greg McCune served 38 batches of scratch-made pancakes to hungry students at M.V. Beattie Elementary School in Enderby during their annual Christmas pancake breakfast Tuesday morning.
“Are we crazy,” Baird said. “No we just love our community.” In all, Baird said councillors and Mayor Greg McCune, who were joined by McCune’s mom, fed about 240 kids and handed out pouring hot chocolate, oranges and Christmas smiles. They will do it all over again Wednesday morning at A.L. Fortune Secondary School.
