The Sorrento Food Bank received an early Christmas present in the form of a Community Gaming Grant Program grant.

This $12,000 boost will help the organization that has built a reputation for helping those in need in the communities.

The other recipient, the Order of Royal Purple Lodge in Salmon Arm, received $10,000.

“The Sorrento Food Bank and the Order of Royal Purple Lodge are always there for those in need, and these grants support their great work,” said Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo.

“As we all reflect on how fortunate we are this holiday season, let’s also think about how we as individuals can support organizations like these that help our most vulnerable citizens.”

These grants were awarded under the Human and Social Services category of the Community Gaming Grant Program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues.
