Now that the ground has thawed, the Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society (LASS) has installed the first of four Little Free Libraries that were purchased with funds from the Shuswap Community Foundation last fall.

Larissa Lutjen, a LASS volunteer who is the One To One School Coordinator at North Shuswap Elementary and a resident of Celista, agreed to paint the library and to find the appropriate location for it.

If you happen to be near the Sunnyside Supermart in Celista, just past the school, you can see her handiwork.

She painted the exterior of the library to resemble lake rocks. The library has been installed next to the community bulletin board and mailboxes.

It has been stocked with books for both children and adults in the community to read and enjoy.

Please take a book, and if you have books that are gathering dust in your home, the new Little Free Library is a good way to let them be enjoyed by other people.
