New sessions added for trail planning

Help update the regional recreational access routes and trails inventory.

Help update the regional recreational access routes and trails inventory and highlight those areas that should be considered a priority for improved management.

Upcoming sessions include:

• Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7-9 p.m. at Blind Bay Hall.

• Monday, Oct. 1, 7-9 p.m. at Okanagan College, Salmon Arm.

• Tuesday, Oct. 2, 7-9 p.m. at Celista Community Hall.

Individual submissions can be submitted through the trail report hotline at trailreport@shuswaptrails.com. Send comments on recreational trails and routes that you consider a priority for improved access management  and why.

The Shuswap Recreational Access and Trail Management Planning process will include an inventory of existing and proposed recreational trails throughout the watershed, an environmental audit of those trail systems, First Nations reviews, community participation to establish management priorities and the creation of a Shuswap Trails Protocol to give direction to future planning and management.
