Riess Fortier, a Grade 11 student at Chase Secondary and a member of the 222 Shuswap Air Cadet Squadron, was one of six high school students chosen from School District #73 to attend a reception and lecture at Thompson Rivers University for Commander Chris Hadfield, a former air cadet himself, on Oct. 4. Youth between the ages of 12 and 19, interested in the Air Cadet Program, are invited to join Squadron 222 at South Canoe School in Salmon Arm at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
