Project in need of used bras

Bras will be used to for the base of an ice-climbing wall to promote awareness of breast cancer.

If you’re an ice climber, the next step you take may be courtesy of a Maidenform, Cleo, Curvy Kate, Warner or perhaps a Wonder Bra.

Hostelling International Nordegg, located between Banff and Jasper, is building an ice climbing wall using bras as the framework for the ice to form on. The wall is being built to promote awareness of breast cancer and will require many, many bras.

And they’re looking for yours.

Women are invited to bring any used bra they’re ready to part with to the Salmon Arm Observer and make sure they leave their name as well.

Donors’ names will be inscribed on a plaque at the wall. If you want to visit the hostel this winter, either to climb the wall or just have a look at it, look at its web page at www.hihostels.ca/nordegg.

You can drop  off donations at the Observer or the Squilax hostel by Nov. 28. For more information, call Blair at Squilax General Store and Hostel at 250-675-2977.
