The Shuswap Needle Arts Guild (SNAG) has created a special Remembrance Day display in a window at the Mall at Piccadilly.
The presentation includes a mix of cross stitch, quilting, felted and knit items related to Remembrance. Also on display are brass shells, a combat helmet and other headgear, crosses and Remembrance coin sets, which form part of Salmon Arm legion historian Harry Welton’s collection of military memorabilia.
SNAG is one of 40 chapters across the country belonging to the Embroidery Association of Canada (EAC). The mission of EAC is to preserve traditional embroidery techniques and promote new challenges through a variety of learning opportunities including an annual embroidery seminar.
The mall allows the guild to put various displays in one of their mall windows throughout the year.
