School District 83 is cohosting a job fair with WorkBC, with high school students and the public invited to attend the March 11 event at the SASCU Rec Centre.

School District 83 and WorkBC are helping people get down to business with an upcoming Job & Career Fair.

The fair will create a one-stop shop, with over 100 businesses, non-profits and post-secondary from around the district and province invited to take part. That will include at least one vendor from each community – Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Enderby, Armstrong, Sorrento and North Shuswap – offering work or guidance at the event.

The job fair will take place on Tuesday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SASCU Recreation Centre in Salmon Arm and is open to high school students and all members of the public looking for a summer job or investigating careers. Participants are encouraged to bring resumes to distribute as many of the exhibitors will be actively looking for summer help.

Any businesses or organizations interested in having a booth at the fair can contact Ashley with WorkBC at 250-804-4770 ext. 1709. To learn more about the event itself, contact the career coordinator at your local high school, or George Richard at 778-824-1188 or grichard@sd83.bc.ca.
