Support group available for grieving parents

The Shuswap Hospice Society is offering a Parent Bereavement Support Group for parents who are coping with the pain of the loss of a child.

The Parent Bereavement Support Group helps parents find their way back to living after experiencing the death of a child.  The group addresses the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual challenges that accompany the pain of the death.

This group offers a safe space for parents to share their experience with other parents and to learn that they are not alone in their pain.

The Support Group is for parents who have lost a child of any age.

Group meetings will be held at the Shuswap Hospice Society office Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. starting Tuesday, April 12 and will run for six consecutive Tuesdays.  For more information, call Judy Evans, program co-ordinator, at 250-832-7099.
