The Salmon Arm Arts Centre is inviting applications for two arts awards as well as a visual artist residency.

The Blair Borden Memorial Arts Award and the Clara Anderson Music Award are for musicians seeking to expand their skills and experience. The awards are not less than $500 each, and can go toward lessons, workshops or instruments. Application forms are available at salmonarmartscentre.ca/apply. The deadline to apply is July 30, 2024.

The Marie Manson Virtual Artist Residency is a three-month paid collaboration with the curatorial team at Salmon Arm Arts Centre. The artist works in their own studio toward an installation for the exhibition Fantastic Fungi.

There are bi-weekly check-ins with Secwépemc knowledge-sharer Louis Thomas and curator Tracey Kutschker to integrate land-based knowledge and curatorial guidance into their artwork.

The residency is ideal for a visual artist who is expanding their arts practice and utilizing new mediums. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2024, and the application form is available on salmonarmartscentre.ca/apply.
