Dinner will be served and three community groups will take home cash.

Shuswap Women Who Wine are hosting a second community giving event in Salmon Arm, this one open to members of the public.

On Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Salmon Arm Curling Centre, there will be presentations by representatives of three worthy community groups – the Salmon Arm Rescue Unit, the SAFE Society and the North Okanagan Brain Injury Association (NOSBIS).

Each representative will describe a program they are hoping to raise funds for, after which, dinner guests will vote for the project they believe is most deserving of the funds in a secret ballot.

The group that gets the most votes will be given 80 per cent of the donated funds and the remaining groups will each get 10 per cent of the money.

The cost for the Mediterranean-themed dinner is $25 and each guest is required to donate $100 to the cause, for which they will be given a charitable tax receipt.

Drinks will be available from the curling centre’s bar.

This adult-only event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be games and activities, a photo booth, and each person in attendance will be entered to win a fabulous door prize.

Seating is limited and those interested are encouraged to RSVP to info@womenwhowine.ca or call Kailee at 250-852-1137 before Nov. 30.
