Abbotsford's Ledgeview Golf Club is hosting the 122nd B.C. Amateur Championship from July 9 to 12.

The 122nd edition of the British Columbia Amateur Golf Championship opens today (July 9) at Abbotsford's Ledgeview Golf Course.

A practice round occurred yesterday (July 8) and the four-day competition will see competitors play 72-holes, with the field being cut to the top-70 after day two. Rounds go today, tomorrow (July 10), Thursday (July 11) and Friday (July 12).

The event sees 156 golfers from all across B.C. teeing off.

The 2023 champion was Vernon's Cooper Humphreys and he is back to defend his crown in 2024. He shot a -14 (274) over the four-day event last year in Parksville. Delta golfers Jace Minni and John Morrow, who placed second and third respectively last year, are also both back for 2024.

Ledgeview has never hosted the event solo, as they did host along with Pitt Meadows Golf Club back in 1988. Chilliwack hosted the event back in 1992.

Abbotsford golfers competing include: Andrew Biggar, Ryan Burns, Tarundeep Chadha, Owen Crockett, Kyle Gerard, Eli Greene, Nick Guenther, James Hull, Hayden Lazeo, Conner Piers and MacLaren Smith.

Chilliwack golfers participating are: Maxim McKenzie, Richard Smith and Alex Walker.
