It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you.
The purpose is to direct public attention towards the exceptional level of health care given at our local hospital. That facility being, the Shuswap General Hospital in Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
Most particularly to the Cancer Oncology Unit headed by Dr. Christopher Main and his incredibly kind and dedicated nursing staff.
It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I share this brief story.
My beautiful wife of 34 years was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer roughly three years ago and was put under the care of Dr. Main and his squad of nurses at the oncology unit of Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm.
My wife's battle with cancer lasted for roughly three years before she finally succumbed to this terrible disease.
During my wife's battle she received a very high level of care. She was treated with the utmost level of respect from Dr. Main and staff.
The levels of compassion were above and beyond anything I have witnessed in a similar situation in my life experiences.
In my wife's final days at the Shuswap General Hospital, all staff members, whether it be doctors, nurses or maintenance staff, ALL showed great consideration for both my wife and our family.
On closing, I believe that the public needs to be aware that these professionals, work in crowded areas, eat their lunches on the go, take few holidays, work double shifts, etc. – all while showing great kindness, respect and compassion towards their patients.
Unfortunately within today's changing daily dynamics, things like this go unnoticed.
I wish to voice my sincere gratitude and appreciation to ALL that were involved in Judy's journey.
YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
With respect and sincerity,
Steve Seelinger
