Allison Rennie, a trained spiritual director, will introduce Enneagram, the Nine Faces of the Soul Friday and Saturday Feb. 10 and 11.
Hosted by First United Church, the Friday night introduction at SAGA Public Art Gallery and Saturday workshop will teach participants how to use the ancient tool to understand themselves and support their spiritual transformation.
The enneagram can be valuable in your personal and professional life, helping to understand yourself, your own needs and your own projections. It is a valuable self-awareness tool, says Rennie.
“Why in our encounter with life do we keep running up against ourselves, instead of making a breakthrough to God, to the Totally Other?” asks Richard Rohr, author of The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective.
This dynamic symbol has ancient roots in the practice and thought of the Christian Desert Fathers and the mystical Sufis.
“It can help us see and hear ourselves more honestly, and encourage the ongoing formation of our soul so we can fall ‘into the Great Self of God,” says Rennie.
The Friday night intro runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 10 at the SAGA Public Art Gallery, and continues with a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. at First United Church on Okanagan Avenue.
