Arts festival coming to Carlin

The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts will be held at Carlin Hall from July 21 to 24.

The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts will be held at Carlin Hall from July 21 to 24.

The festival will feature 2D and 3D exhibits created by local artists. Fibre-art displays, a display of children’s artwork and a gift shop will also be located at the hall. Refreshments will also be available.

The events at Carlin Hall will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, except July 24, when scheduled events take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As part of the festival, Jesse Mast and his band will perform in a live concert at Centennial Field in Blind Bay from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on July 23. A beer garden and snacks will be available at the concert.

This year will mark the 33rd consecutive year of the festival, but only the second year it has been operated by the Arts Council for the South Shuswap.

Admission to the event is by donation, except for children’s activities on July 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. which cost $5 extra.
