The success that was the sixth annual It’s All About Women Conference is over.
Workshops kept about 140 women busy during the day and some 120 attended the Take Back the Night gala and award presentation.
“We have so many unbelievable women who give so much in the community,” said organizer Coralie Tolley Monday, noting a powerful speech by a domestic abuse survivor makes her post-event fatigue worthwhile.
In comparison to the loss of life to firefighters, soldiers and police, the number of deaths to domestic violence is staggering, she says, referring to a speech by lawyer Jan Seelinger.
Net proceeds from the conference go to the Salmon Arm Family Emergency Society.
