Bad Blood: Jesse Mast’s latest single reached 27 on the Billboard charts. The young talent will perform at Shuswap Theatre on Saturday

Loving life on the cross-country tour with Gordon Bamford and Joe Nichols, Jesse Mast is excited to be performing for a hometown crowd on June 11.

“We have been threatening to do a show together, so finally, this is just us getting together and doing it,” says the talented young singer-songwriter-guitarist of his special guests and longtime friends Blu and Kelly Hopkins.

“This is it and I am excited to have a chance to play at home.”

Mast says he continues to be amazed by the support he receives from his hometown.

“Between the people I run into, I hear ‘how’s it going, when are you coming back?’” he says.

“Every time I come home, it’s a breath of fresh air.”

For his June 11 concert at Shuswap Theatre, Mast will perform with Jake McIntyre-Paul and Taylor McKnight.

“We’ve put together a really organic, different sound and we’re really excited about it,” he says.

Just finishing a cross-Canada tour, Mast has had rave reviews playing his Bad Blood single to crowds of 2,000 to 3,000.

“It is cool to see that many people reacting so well to your music,” he says. “Every time we’ve been on stage, people know the words. It’s surreal.”

With Bad Blood descending from its peak at #27 on the Billboard charts, Mast is working on a second single.

He’s also writing with a couple of “phenomenal writers” in Nashville for an upcoming album.

“We’ve been working on these songs for a while, but I need more material. There’s a lot that still needs to happen before we can put a date out, but I’m thinking in the new year.”

Mast’s concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Shuswap Theatre.

Tickets at $20 each are available at Acorn Music.
