Young writers will be rewarded for their efforts at this year’s writers’ festival, which has a new name – Word on the Lake: A Festival for Readers and Writers. It will be held May 25 – 27.
Students in school districts #83 and #22, five to 18 years are invited to submit their short stories and poetry in the fifth annual Young Writers’ Contest. The deadline is April 5. Email karen.bissenden@gmail.com or www.saow.ca for guidelines and details.
Festival organizers, the Shuswap Association of Writers, are holding a raffle in support of the festival.
Tickets are available at Lady in the Tub, Hidden Gems Bookstore, and The Book Nook.
There are seven great prizes to be won, including a houseboat trip.
