Salmon Arm ORL seeks readers, bookmarks

The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) is asking young people to be creative and find their inner artist to create a new bookmark for the library system.

Between now and Aug. 19, children aged 18 and under can draw, paint or digitally create a bookmark design. The winning designers in the under 12 and 13-18 year categories will have their creations printed onto thousands of bookmarks for giveaway, plus a $100 prize package. Entry forms can be picked up at ORL branches or downloaded from www.orl.bc.ca. Completed entries can be dropped off at branches before Aug. 19.

While at the library, kids can also register for the Summer Reading Club (SRC) and pick up lists with suggestions on great summer books.

This year’s reading club launch takes place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at the Salmon Arm branch in the Mall at Piccadilly. Go dressed as a character from a book for a chance to win a prize. Everyone who registers for SRC will receive free pizza.
