Saskatoon band erupts at Pinz Tattoo

Rumors throughout the years led to the east peak of Mount Idea being known as a Volcano.

Rumors throughout the years led to the east peak of Mount Idea being known as a Volcano.

Its not.

This is a fact that matters little to the Saskatoon band Volcanoless in Canada.

Having played before in Salmon Arm last summer, the band returns to Pinz Tattoo and Gallery at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Volcanoless in Canada’s sound strives to combine precise rhythms and intricate melodies with the appeal and high-paced energy of rock music.

Their sonic principle lies in the co-ordinated triple-guitar-assault, where three acoustics play complementary and interweaving melody lines within the rhythmical domain set by drums and bass.

This original concept allows Volcanoless’ music to flow across a vast musical spectrum, embracing elements of rock, pop, folk, country, punk and dance.

On the cusp of recording a new album the band continues to fill their time playing shows and travelling.

Joining them is local singer/songwriter Sasha Lewis and her band.

Her new album, Rooted was released last summer. Having a strongly developed background within her craft, she has attracted a genuine and ever-growing fan base of supporters who have followed her since the first strum on her guitar and stroke of her pen.

Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for children 13 and under.
