Tribute: Colin

The Robinson children: Taylor, Colin and Alexa, want everyone to know they love their dad, Tim Robinson, who died suddenly in June 2009.

And as a way to honour his memory, the three children have made a $1,300 donation to the Shuswap Trail Alliance.

“Our Dad liked to bike and he liked biking with us,” said Colin. “We lived right by the bike trails, we went a lot, so this is something he would like.”

The donation came from a fund that was established by Robinson’s friends in the wake of his death. Knowing Robinson’s love of both outdoor recreation and his passion for supporting outdoor activites for children, contributing to the creation of bike trails seemed to be an excellent fit.

“It is a pretty special thing for these children to do,” says Phil McIntyre-Paul, on behalf of the Shuswap Trail Alliance.

The group will be putting the money into a reserve account to be used to create a suitable South Canoe trail once the appropriate planning process has been completed.

The Trail Alliance’s major fundraising party is taking place Friday night at the community centre. Tickets at $20 are at Lakeside Insurance and Skookum Cycle & Ski. All proceeds will be going towards greenway trail projects in the Shuswap, including those at South Canoe.
