Shuswap in Transition, the local group that is part of the worldwide Transition Town movement, has a film series upcoming entitled Money as Debt.

The first film, Money as Debt I, is 47 minutes long and reels out Wednesday Sept. 21.

The second, Money as Debt II: Promises Unleashed is longer, at 77 minutes and runs Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Money as Debt III: Evolution Beyond Money will run consecutive Wednesdays Oct. 5 and 12.

All films will be shown at the CASSSA office, 351 Hudson Ave. NE, and will begin at 7 p.m.

Information on the films can be found at: www.moneyasdebt.net.

Shuswap in Transition will also be offering a re-skilling workshop on cheese-making on Wednesday, Oct. 19, presented by Naomi Fournier of Birdsong Farm.

The Transition Town movement is intended to help communities deal with the world’s dwindling oil supply, as well as climate change, and is intended to be a model of hope and opportunity, rather than doom and gloom.

It looks at ways to transition to a sustainable community that is more resilient locally and able to look after itself in the face of external forces.
