Award-winning Salmon Arm pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko has a post-Christmas gift planned for the community and Second Harvest Food Bank.
Izik-Dzurko will be performing a his Voyages recital at the Nexus at First (First Community/United Church) on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., admission is by donation and all proceeds from the concert will be donated to Second Harvest.
In May, the 25-year-old received grand honours at the 2024 piano edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal, winning first prize and the award for Best Canadian Artist. For these accomplishments he received the Grand Cash Prize of $30,000 offered by la Ville de Montréal, the Joseph-Rouleau Career Development Grant of $50,000 offered by The Azrieli Foundation, the Steinway Recording Prize (valued at over $54,000), plus Steinway Prizewinner Concerts, a Korean Tour, an engagement with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal for a concert or recital in a subsequent season, and a solo recital engagement for the Coast Recital Society’s 2025-2026 season.
On Jan. 26, Izik-Dzurko has a concert date with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, where they'll be performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58. On Jan. 31, he'll be in Paris, performing a solo recital at the Fondation Louis Vuitton Auditorium.
