The Chase Library will open as a cooling centre during the upcoming heat, but the Memorial Park Boat Launch has been closed due to low water levels.

With the temperatures climbing to the mid-30s this weekend, the Village of Chase is again offering residents some options.

As with the previous heat warning, the Chase Library will operate as a cooling centre during regular hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday.

There is also the Splash Park at Memorial Park and the Centennial Park Wading Pool, the latter of which was temporarily closed during the early July heat wave.

There is also Little Shuswap Lake, of course, though the village has closed the Memorial Park Boat Launch due to low water levels.

"Residents are reminded to stay safe during the heat and, when possible, please check on high-risk individuals, elderly and vulnerable neighbours or others who may need assistance," the village wrote in a Facebook post announcing the cooling centre.
