The day after it had been recovered by police, a stolen vehicle was found ablaze in a Chase towing company’s compound.

Chase RCMP were called to the suspicious vehicle fire at 130 Aylmer Rd. on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Sgt. Barry Kennedy said the stolen vehicle had been recovered the day before on Chase-Falkland Road and was parked in a local tow company’s storage compound.

“The Chase Fire (Rescue) was able to quickly extinguish the flames as the recent dry conditions made this fire particularly dangerous and could have quickly spread within the Village of Chase,” said Kennedy in a Sept. 27 media release, adding a suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
