Christmas on track for the Shuswap mid-December with Holiday Train

Annual event returns Dec. 17 with live music in support of food banks

The CPKC Holiday Train is set to roll into the Shuswap on Dec. 17 with live music in support of local food banks.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) rail is already getting in the Christmas spirit with its announcement of the 2024 Holiday Train schedule and lineup of performers. 

In its 26th year, the annual tradition is ready to roll across Canada and the U.S. starting Nov. 21 on the east coast and travelling across country until the final stops on Dec. 20.  

The month-long tour will see the festively decorated train stop at different communities along the way, with professional musicians providing free concerts while CPKC collects money and donations and raises awareness to support local food banks. 

The musical acts on the local leg of the tour this year will be Canadian reggae-fusion band Magic!, and Toronto singer/songwriter Sofia Camara. 

This year, the Shuswap stops will take place on at the following times and locations:

Monday, Dec. 16

  • 6:15-6:45    Revelstoke at Victoria Road 

Tuesday, Dec. 17

  • 5:15-5:45    Sicamous at Hwy. 1 and Silversands Road
  • 6:45-7:15    Canoe at 50 Street and Canoe Beach Drive
  • 8:00-8:30    Salmon Arm at 51 Lakeshore Drive NE
  • 9:30-10:00  Notch Hill at 1639 Notch Hill Road

Wednesday, Dec. 18

  • 2:45-3:15    Chase at Shuswap Avenue and Ash Drive
