A cannabis store in Enderby allowed dozens of families to (puff, puff) pass the cranberry sauce this holiday season.
The Grass Hut provided a donation of turkeys with all the fixings, which was able to fill hampers for approximately 65 homes over the holidays, Splatsin First Nation said in a post on its website Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The Grass Hut's donation also provided food for a memorial service and supported weekly client meals.
"Their kindness made a huge difference in bringing comfort and nourishment to our community during this special time," the post reads.
The Splatsin Community Pantry offered its heartfelt thanks to Richard Monvoisen and The Grass Hut for their "incredible" generosity.
"From all of us at the Splatsin Community Pantry, thank you, Richard, for your support!"
The Splatsin Community Pantry food bank is operated by Splatsin Social Development for the purpose of helping band members in need. The food bank is open for members by appointment or walk-in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.
