Illicit drugs and more than $2,000 cash were seized by Salmon Arm RCMP responding to a reported suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle, a white Infinity QX60, was reported to have been in the area of the 2nd Avenue SE/Shuswap Street intersection around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25. Police found the vehicle running with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. Drug paraphernalia was also observed, said Const. Andrew Hodges in a media release.
Hodges said the investigating officer woke the driver who proceeded to remove from his pants containers “that appeared to contain illicit drugs.”
The driver was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
“Police seized 35 grams of suspected illicit drugs, and over $2,000 of cash suspected to be proceeds of crime,” said Hodges, adding the matter remains under investigation.
