Salmon Arm counting down to BCHL All-Star Weekend as 1st time host

The 3rd Annual BCHL All-Stars Weekend comes to Salmon Arm for the first time on Jan. 17-18 with events at Rogers Rink and the Ross Street Plaza.

Salmon Arm is gearing up for the third annual BCHL All-Star Weekend that will see action on and off the ice.

The city will host the event, which has been held in Penticton for the past two years, on Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, 18, at Rogers Rink and the Ross Street Plaza. 

The All-Star Weekend will feature the top players of the league facing off in different events, starting Friday with two Top Prospects Games, the first being the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) at 4:30 p.m., followed by the BCHL at 7:30 p.m. Both take place at Rogers Rink, before the the celebration moves off ice the following day. 

Saturday will start with an Outdoor Community Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ross Street Plaza where people can partake in ball hockey, food and coffee trucks, yard games, warming stations, beverage gardens and more.

From there, the action returns to the arena with a VIJHL All-Star Game at 2:30 p.m., followed by a Skills Competition at 5:30 p.m., Alumni & Friends Game at 6:30 p.m. and topped off with a BCHL 3-on-3 All-Star Tournament at 7:30 p.m. 

Tickets, which can be purchased online at tickets.sasilverbacks.com, are $10 for adult day passes, while kids 12 and under are free. Students aged 13 to 17 are just $5, or free as well if wearing a jersey.
