The Sicamous Eagles felt the love Friday after scoring a 5-2 win over the Revelstoke Grizzlies to break a six-game losing streak.

On Feb. 14, the team hosted the KIJHL's second-place Grizzlies, who started off the action 2.35 into the first with Kuy Schmirler scoring off a pass from Dayton Abbott. The Eagles lit up the board mid-frame when Clayton Gillmore added his 10th marker of the campaign, with Dexter Materi and Austin Horbachewsky picking up assists.

The team then closed the first in the final seconds with Colton Fleming finding the back of the net, assisted by Sicamous native Levi Dewitt and Dylan Konschuh for a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

The Eagles owned the middle frame with Gillmore earning his second on the night on a power play for the eventual game-winner, with Josh Missfeldt and Nick Wright collecting the assists. Less than a minute later, Matthew Marino potted an insurance goal with Gavin Bretherick and Konschuh getting him the puck.

With the Grizz trailing 4-1, they made a last stand at 4:34 of the final frame, with Jacob Smith scoring off of assists from Diego Smith and Colton McLeod. That couldn't touch the Eagles' lead, however, especially after Hayden Evans added one final marker for his 19th on the regular season, with Ashton Angle and Maguire Nicholson picking up assists.

Kael Svenson stopped 47 shots in the win, while Ryder Ponto was tagged with the loss after blocking 24.

The teams are up for a rematch tonight, Feb. 15, as they face off at the Revelstoke Forum. The puck drop is at 7 p.m.
