The Sicamous Eagles playoff bid came to an end Friday, March 7 with a 5-3 loss to the Princeton Posse to end the series 4-1.

The Sicamous Eagles' quest for the Teck Cup has come to an end after the team got eliminated from the first round of playoffs.

Sicamous dropped the best-of-seven series in five games to the Princeton Posse.

The team swan song came after a 5-3 loss on the road Friday night, March 7, despite lighting up the board first at 8:14 into the game with Hayden Evans hitting the net off passes from Gavin Bretherick and Clayton Gillmore. Princeton responded soon after to tie it up before the frame ended with a handful of penalties assessed to both teams.

The Posse took the lead on a power play in the second period and furthered that lead soon after. The Eagles got a goal sandwiched between the two Princeton markers when Dexter Materi pot one, with Maguire Nicholson picking up the assist.

With Sicamous already behind, Princeton secured its win early in the final frame, though Colton Fleming added one more for the Eagles on a short-handed marker at 15:36, which the Posse followed up soon after with an insurance goal.

Kael Svenson was named the visiting team star after making 34 saves in net. The 4-1 series caps the Eagles' 22-16-6-0 regular season to finish in 11th in the KIJHL.
