Sicamous Eagles soar on as winning streak continues

The Sicamous Eagles November winning streak continues as they notched their fourth straight victory, taming the Revelstoke Grizzlies 4-2 on home ice Friday night.

In the first period, the Eagles opened the scoring when Ashton Angle collected a short handed goal, assisted from Hayden Evans. Revelstoke racked up a number of penalties before Hudson Scrimshaw tied it up with just over a minute left in the frame, assisted by Kesler Fyfe,

Sicamous went on to dominate the second, with Evans adding to their goal just over halfway through, with assists coming from Parker Garries and Everett Boutcher. Duncan Paradis then secured the game, shooting one in off of Owen Dewitt.

Caleb Dehoog closed out the frame with an insurance goal, assisted by Brendan Calahasen, for a 4-1 lead going into the third.

Though the Grizzlies managed to score once more in the final frame, with Alexander Bronswyk sliding on in off passes from Luke Aston and Cole Gartner, it wasn’t enough to close the gap, giving Sicamous the win.

With the win, Sicamous is at the top of the Doug Birks division with a 14-2-0-0 record.

The Eagles will looking to make it five straight wins on Saturday night as they welcome the Osoyoos Coyotes to town. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the Sicamous and District Recreation Centre.
