The Sicamous Eagles suffered a 7-2 loss against the KIJHL's top ranked Princeton Posse to close October.

After a split 4-4 month, the Sicamous Eagles ended October with a 7-2 loss against the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League-leading Princeton Posse.

Though the Eagles had the home ice advantage in the Oct. 26 game, they couldn't get the puck past the Posse's defensive team, and had just five and 15 shots on goal in the first and second respectively. In contrast, the visiting team potted two then three of their 21 tries for a solid 5-0 lead going into the final frame.

The Posse were, however, also assessed with numerous penalties, earning a game total of 57 minutes in the sin bin for 14 incidents, compared to the Eagles at 42 and 10.

Sicamous finally got in the game early in the third, with Clayton Gillmore lighting up the board just over a minute in, assisted by Walker Overwater. The Posse furthered their lead at the midway mark, before Ashton Angle potted his third KIJHL goal in six games, with Devon Barclay and Matthew Marino adding assists.

A final parting shot from the Posse put the final count at 7-2 to maintain their first place standing (12-1-0-1), while the Eagles sit in the middle of the flock (6-3-3-0).

They're up next in a home game Friday, Nov. 1 against the Chase Heat, then travel to 100 Mile House to face off against the Wranglers on Saturday, Nov. 2. The puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights.
