Aggravated assault charge laid

Criminal charges have been filed in relation to an assault that took place more than 14 months ago near the Blind Bay Village Grocery Store.

Police have laid criminal charges in relation to an assault that took place more than 14 months ago near the Blind Bay Village Grocery Store.

Colby Richard Woodhead, 50, is facing a charge of aggravated assault in connection to the incident, which took place on Jan. 3, 2014.

At the time, RCMP reported two men became involved in an argument.

This led to a physical altercation between the two, in which one person ended up striking his head on the ground causing a skull fracture.

The victim was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops in serious condition.

Woodhead’s first court appearance has been set for March 17 in Salmon Arm.
