One man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident at Highway 1 and Balmoral Road Saturday, Aug. 3.

Police were called out at 11:12 a.m. and, once on scene, found a man trapped in a demolished Ford Taurus that had been struck by a GMC truck before being pinned against a light pole. The driver of the Ford, who had pulled in front of the truck, causing the ‘T-bone’ collision, was freed from the vehicle by first responders. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
