The Salmon Arm RCMP are still searching for a suspect in a bank robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Wednesday, March 23.

The lone male suspect made away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one in the bank was hurt during the incident.

At 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Salmon Arm RCMP received a report of a bank robbery occurring at the Bank of Montreal, located in the 200 block of the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP officers attended the scene immediately and were then assisted by an RCMP Police Service Dog unit brought in from Vernon.

Investigators confirm that a lone man entered the bank at around 2:27 p.m. and approached a teller. Once at the teller, he produced a note and told teller to give him money, stating that if she didn’t do it quickly, there would be trouble.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the man immediately fled. No weapon was produced or seen during the incident.

He is described as a Caucasian male, clean shaven and 30 to 35-years-old. He is approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, with a medium build. The suspect was wearing knee-length shorts, red in colour with a dark stripe on the sides and  a light grey pullover hoodie with a dark shirt underneath. He was sporting a woodland green and brown camouflage baseball cap and a white-haired wig under the cap. There was short, dark hair seen protruding under the wig. RCMP investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the man fled the area in a vehicle.
