I’ve been asked why I have chosen to go forward as a candidate, and wish to continue my career as an MLA.
The answer is simple. In the last four years, I have seen first hand how working on behalf of the constituency can make a positive difference.
It’s not always about the ‘big’ things, like lobbying to bring home the $200 million in the last 4 years for such investments in our future as sewer upgrades and highway improvements. The highlight of the day can be attending the birthday party for a 108-year-old resident. Or when someone is struggling to get by and needs help dealing with income assistance, and we achieve a solution…. Or promoting the organ donor program in our province.
I have come to realize there is still work for me to do as MLA – the experiences I have enjoyed, and the experience I have gained, will allow me to bring more to the table on behalf of the constituents of the Shuswap.
